Link Shortening Guide

The echo19 platform provides two ways to shorten a long url. Each option has its applications and advantages.

The process starts by provisioning a generic domain for your program in the platform. The application allows you to search for a word/phrase and choose from different extensions (.com, .org, .link, .net and more). The domain finder will also provide domain suggestions to choose from.
The selected domain is assigned to your account and is valid for a year. Domains normally take around 5 minutes to activate, however in some cases the activation process may take up to 24 hours. We recommend buying domains in advance. When buying domains in advance is not possible, we recommend that the user checks each domain before starting the program to make sure they are successfully activated.

Shortening a long url

This is basically a link redirect. The destination url can be modified if/when needed at the 'Texting Domains' page
Type the domain directly in the text message or use the {domain} tag in the message field to allow domain variability.

Creating a short links with link tracking

This unique link contains the generic domain plus a 5-character unique code (i.e. echo19demo.com/rFqxM). This option provides click tracking and additional reports.
