Provisioning Phone numbers for your 10DLC campaign

After your 10DLC has been approved, the final step is to provision the phone numbers to be used as caller IDs. Follow these simple steps to start provisioning phone numbers:

  1. Go to Brand/Campaigns.
  2. Click on Manage 10DLC Campaigns.
  3. Finally, click on Manage Phone Number Groups for the approved campaign.

Additional Relevant Information

  • The maximum number of phone numbers you can provision is 49 per campaign. For 10DLC registered traffic, you won't need many caller IDs. Most campaigns use just one or two caller IDs per program. You can start with one number and add more as needed.
  • The caller IDs can be from different area codes.
  • The echo19 system will select the best caller ID for each text based on the area code you're texting. The system works as follows:
    • If there is a caller ID in the phone group that matches the area code, it will use it.
    • If no caller ID matches the area code, it will find the closest caller ID in the same state using a geolocation lookup.
    • If no caller ID is found matching the state of the recipient, it will find the closest caller ID geographically.
  • After creating the phone number group, and provisioning the numbers there is a waiting period until the new numbers are fully active for 10DLC, this normally takes between 15 minutes and a few hours. You will receive an email notification indicating your campaign is "Ready To Send" once this activation is complete.

Recommendation: Create a single phone number group and add numbers from all the different geographies you usually text to, then let the system decide which number to use.
