Acquiring Domains in echo19

Follow these steps to acquire domains for url shortening.

1. Go to Texting Domains at the Setup/Administration section of the left side menu.
2. Search for available domains by entering the desired letters or word combination and select the domain extension(s) (.com, .net, etc). The system will show results for all supported available domains. You can broaden the search by checking the ‘Suggest Additional Domains’ box and the system will also give you domain suggestions similar to the parameters given.
3. If you want to forward this domain to a specific URL, use the Redirect URL field to enter the destination URL (long Url). Note: if you are using individualized links, leave this blank.
4. Once a domain is provisioned, the Manage Texting Domains section will show all purchased domains along with usage information for each domain, such as text count per domain and the name of the program(s) where each domain was used.
5. When building a text-to-survey program, select ‘Add Domain(s) Provisioned in Echo19’ on the Domains section to apply purchased domains to the program.
6. The domains acquired will work in combination with echo19’s short URL codes and are valid for one (1) year.
7. The price per domain is $20 and it is assigned to the client the user selects.

Domains normally take around 5 minutes to activate, however in some cases the activation process may take up to 24 hours. We recommend buying domains in advance. When buying domains in advance is not possible, we recommend that the user checks each domain before starting the program to make sure they are successfully activated.
